how do i change this 6(x-3)^2-4(y+1)^2=96 into (x-h)^2/a^2-(y-k)^2/9=1?

I think you copied the problem wrong. I have included what to do if the 96 is supposed to be a 36 because that is the only way to get 9 as the denominator of the y term in this problem. Divide each term by 36 and simplify.
