knowing the diagonal of a square is like knowing the hypotenuse of a triangle. So using the 45-45-90 theory you will find out that the sides of the triangle are 6/the square root of 2. the preimeter is then easy to find. it is 4x (6/square root of 2) therefor it is 24/square root of 2 inches.the area of a square is s^2. so (6/square root of 2)^2 which makes 18 inches squared your area
