First, divide by 3 to get the x^2 term by itself.x^2 + 2x = -(1/3) Now, half the b term, so b/2 = 1...and square it =1. So far we have: (after following process of video)(x+1)^2 = (-1/3) + 1 (x+1)^2 = (2/3) Square root both sides and continue to solve for x.x+1=+/- sqrt(2/3)x= -1 +/- sqrt(2/3) is your answer.
