Kris, When you get to the form n^2 - 3n - 108 = 0 as demonstrated in the video clip, you can also solve for n by using the quadratic formula.  In the quadratic formula, a = 1, b = -3 and c = -108.  All you need to do is plug those values into the formula and simplify. It is easier to use the quadratic formula than to factor.
