in problem 2, my teach said when its a + with a + or a - with a - you add it. also if its a - with a + you subtract it. why aren't you doing that here? in confussed.

she is. when u have two opposite things like x+ with x- like u said. she does that but  really does not explain it cause they think u would already know that.
