by Chandni002 at January 26, 2010

I asked my teacher and the answer is
There is no solution.

Does anyone know how? Cause I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

First, get rid of the || signs and instead put +-. We have:+-(3x+6) = x.Let's solve each separately. We'll deal with the + case first.3x+6 = x2x+6 = 02x = -6x = -3Now for the - case:-3x-6 = x-4x-6 = 0-4x = 6x = -3/2So our answer is x = -3 or -3/2.

you subtract 3x from both sides so you have l 6 l= -2x then you divide by -2 so x= l -3 l which equals 3!!! so the answer is x=3
