Without seeing the problem you are solving it is difficult to give specific help. However, if you are being asked why two triangles are similar, you have three options:1. Show that all three corresponding sides have equivalent ratios (this will probably involve simplifying one or more fractions). This is enough for two triangles to be similar.2. Use the Side-Angle-Side shortcut: show that the ratio of two sides are equal and the angles between them (the included angle) are congruent.3. Show that at least two angles in the triangles are congruent. You may have parallel lines in the problem - use corresponding or alternate interior angles to show the angles are congruent.
