The median age of a certain country’s population, y, for each year x after 1820 (x=0 corresponds to1820,x=1 corresponds to 1821,etc,)can be approximated by the following linear equation: y=0.09x+16.7.

a) Compute the median ages of the population in 1820.1850, and 1990.

 b) Describe what the slope represents in the equation.
