add the equations, and the 2y and -2y cancel out, leaving 5x=10.  if you divide both sides by 5, you get x=2.

The solution to a system of equations is a coordinate pair representing the point where the 2 lines intersect. Don't forget to plug x back in to get y. Your answer should look like (x,y).
