The perimeter of the rectangle is 2*w + 2*h, where w and h are width and height (or length), so:2*3/x +2*(5/x-7) = 6/x + 10/x - 14 = 16/x-14 I'm don't understand what it is you want me to do with the expression with k.  Are you trying to simplify it? Does it tie in with the rectangle at all?
