x=((-b(+_)sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a)x=((-10(+_)sqrt(10^2-4(5)(2))/2(5))x=((-10(+_)sqrt(100-40))/10x=(-10(+_)sqrt(60))/10Scenario 1)x=(-10+sqrt(60))/10x=-1+(sqrt(60))/10Scenario 2)x=(-10-sqrt(60))/10x=-1-(sqrt(60))/10

-b +- sqrt b^2-4ac  /  2a -10 +- sqrt 10^2- 4(5)(2)  /  2(5) -10 +- sqrt 100 – 40  /  10 -10 +- sqrt 60  /  10 -10 +- 2sqrt 15  /  10 Divide everything by 2 (except the sqrt because it's an unlike term) -5 +- sqrt 15  /  5 So... -5 + sqrt 15  /  5      or      -5 - sqrt 15  / 5
