-2x = 6-6y  using the first equation -2x/-2 = 2(3-3y)/-2 x = 3y-3  *** plot this for x in the second equation -7(3y-3)+8y = -5 -21y+21+8y = -5 -13y/-13 = -26/-13 y = 2
