can any one explain me simple harmonic motion?

the perodic motion of a body in which acceleration of the body is always directed towards it mean position and remember its acceleration is always opposite to displacement and directly proportional to the displacement of the body. shm is always periodic motion. tow things are responsible for shm these are property of the body 1_inertia , 2_restoring force............... any question?  edit
