First, isolate y by adding 4x and  then dividing by 2.  Now you have a formula for y in terms of x, and you can manipulate (simplify) the function into mx + b format to determine the slope.

We can move -2 to the other side so the equation will be: -4x+2y+2=o so the slope would be -cofficient of x over (divide) cofficient of y so the slope would be 4 over 2= 2  It would be in the format y=mx+by+c
