Hi! I just have a quiestion about the periodic table! The groups above each vertical row on the table indicates their properties etc. but what i DONT understand is why the table is coloured in different areas when the groups indicates vertical rows?? I mean, the coloured areas are spread out and not at all under the rows of the number of group! Please can you help me with that! Thanks a lot! /Sara

It really depends on the colouring of the periodic table. Sometimes they are coloured in such a manner as to signify which elements are metals, nonmetals, or transitional elements.   Personally, however, I'd suggest either posting a picture or consulting your teacher. I wish I could be of more assistance :C
