You have 5 equal 2 ohm resistors, four of which are in the square bridge itself.  That part should act like two parallel resistors of 4 ohms each.  The equivalent resistance from the square bridge is thus 2 ohms using the inverse parallel resistance rule.  This equivalent resistance is now in series with the 5th resistor of the bridge.  The sum of these two is now 4 ohms total.
