okay so you want to use the ditsributive property first which gives you -10x-(-700)-7x-14 the double negative for the -(-700) will cancel out so you have -10x+700-7x-14 now you combine like terms (-10x-7x=-17x) and 700-14= 686 the final answer should be -17x+686 the distributive property basically distributes itself to all the numbers or values in the parenthesis -10(x-7) becomes -10 times x    plus   -10 times -7                                      -10x        +          700 hope this helps

First, use the distributive property... Distribute the -10 to the x and the -7 and you get -10x+70. Then do the same thing to -7(x+2) multiply which is the same thing as distributing -7 to the x and the 2. And you get -7x-14. After that , put the problem together....... -10x+70-7x-14. Then, combine like terms: -10x-7x+70-14. So you have -17x+56. Now you can't simplify it so        -17x+56 is the answer!!!
