As for how you solve it, there are two ways immediately eident:Intuition and AlgebraIntuition says; "how many 9ths make 1?" this is the shortcut in most math solving.Algebraically, you need to isolate the x, which means cancelling everything that is being done to it to get the result.  In this case, it's being divided by nine to get one, so you have to multiply it by nine to cancel the operation.  Also, you must multiply the result by nine to maintain equality, this looks like looks like:(9)*x/9=1*(9)=> x=9
