A binomial is an expression of 2 terms. ("bi" means two)For example, 3 + x is a binomial.However, 3xy is not a binomial.+ and - signs separate terms from each other. So, whenever you have 3x + y, we can count 3x as a term and y as a term, since they are separated by a plus sign.
