Worldwide the standard definition of current is the direction a positive charge would move (even if the actual charge moving is a negative electron and its moving the opposite direction)  With this convention, you use the right hand rule and assume a positive charge movement.  If the actual charge moving is negative you get the opposite results from what the right hand rule says happens.  Or you could use your left hand for negative charges and the right hand for positive charges.
