There are two key pieces of information that we need in order to write the equation of a circle: the coordinates of the center, and the length of the radius. Standard form looks like (x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2, where the center is (h,k) and the radius is r. In this particular problems, we know the center, but need to use the distance formula to calculate the radius.
